Dental implants are widely regarded as the closest a patient can get to real teeth when things go wrong. A small titanium post is placed into the jawbone where it fuses naturally, creating an anchor for a custom-made porcelain crown. They look, feel and function like a natural tooth.

From assessment to your final crown, step by step.
You will have a thorough clinical examination with one of our implant dentists. This will include full X-rays and a 3D CBCT scan to assess your bone structure. Together, you will discuss your treatment options and expected outcomes to create a personalised plan unique for you.
The titanium implant is carefully placed into the jawbone during a minor surgical procedure, carried out under local anaesthetic. Most patients report little discomfort during the procedure.
Over the following weeks, the implant integrates with your natural bone. This creates a strong foundation for your new tooth. During this time, you may have a temporary restoration.
Once the implant is fully integrated, a custom-made porcelain prosthesis (crown, bridge or denture) is fitted to the implant(s). All new teeth are colour-matched and shaped to blend seamlessly with your surrounding teeth.

Unlike bridges or dentures, implants prevent bone loss that occurs naturally once a tooth is lost.
We plan every implant using 3D CBCT imaging, so that we can assess the bone and position each implant precisely.
Our CBCT scanner allows 3D visualisation of your anatomy, allowing precise and accurate placement of your implant. This gives predictable results for improved longevity, function and aesthetics.
Implants can replace a single tooth, several teeth, or support a denture. To be suitable, you need healthy gums and enough bone in the jaw to hold the implant; where there is not enough bone, a bone graft may be possible.
Implants may not be suitable if you have untreated gum disease or certain medical conditions, and smoking increases the risk of complications. We will assess this at your consultation, using a 3D CBCT scan, and discuss alternatives such as bridges or dentures where they would suit you better.
