Save your natural tooth, relieve pain, and restore your oral health with gentle, modern root canal therapy.

Root canal treatment, also called endodontic therapy, is a procedure that saves a tooth when the soft tissue inside it — called the pulp — becomes infected or inflamed. The pulp contains nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue, and when it's damaged by deep decay, cracks, or trauma, it can cause severe pain and lead to abscess formation if left untreated.
Rather than extracting the tooth, root canal treatment allows us to remove the infected pulp, clean and disinfect the inner chambers of the tooth, and seal it to prevent future infection. This saves your natural tooth, maintains your bite, and avoids the need for more complex and expensive tooth replacement options like implants or bridges.
At Bealby and Jones, we use the latest technology including digital imaging, rotary instruments and advanced anaesthetics to ensure your root canal treatment is as comfortable, efficient, and successful as possible.
Root canal treatment has an unfair reputation for being painful, but this reputation is based on old, outdated techniques. The truth is, it's the infected tooth that causes pain — not the treatment. Root canal therapy relieves pain by removing the source of infection.
Modern dentistry has transformed root canal treatment into a comfortable, predictable procedure.
We use local anaesthetic that completely numbs the treatment area. You may feel pressure, but no pain during the treatment. We always ensure you are fully numb before we begin, and continue to check throughout.
The infected tooth is what is causing your pain — not the treatment. Most patients feel immediate relief once the infection is removed.
Our experienced dentists use a calm, gentle approach. We explain each step, check in regularly, and work at a pace that keeps you comfortable. You’re always in control.
Post-treatment discomfort is typically mild and easily managed with over-the-counter pain relief. Most patients return to normal activities the same day or the next day.
A step-by-step guide to what happens during your root canal treatment.
We examine your tooth, take X-rays to assess the extent of infection, and discuss your symptoms. We’ll explain exactly what needs to be done and answer all your questions before proceeding.
We apply a topical numbing gel, then administer local anaesthetic to completely numb the tooth and surrounding area. We wait until you’re fully numb before starting any treatment.
We place a rubber dam around the tooth to keep it dry and clean. Then we create a small opening in the top of the tooth to access the infected pulp chamber and root canals.
Using precision rotary instruments, we carefully remove the pulp, clean the root canals, and shape them to prepare for filling. We irrigate with disinfecting solutions to eliminate bacteria.
Once the canals are completely clean and dry, we fill them which seals the space to prevent re-infection.
We place either a temporary filling (if you need a crown) or a permanent filling to seal the access opening.
Why saving your natural tooth is always the best option.
Nothing functions like your natural tooth. Root canal treatment allows you to keep it rather than extracting it, preserving your natural bite and chewing function.
Root canal treatment followed by a crown is typically less expensive than extraction and replacement with an implant or bridge.
Keeping your natural tooth in place maintains the bone structure in your jaw. Tooth extraction leads to bone loss over time, affecting your facial appearance.
Once healed, your treated tooth functions just like your other teeth. You can eat, chew, and speak normally without restriction.
Don't suffer in silence. Book an appointment and let us help you save your tooth.
